Levi forgot to blink at the girl before hime turned into a creature that he only heard about in tales. He heard to talk of mermaids and their gossip at the school, but he counted it was a joke like the powers. He knew that he shouldn’t be surprised after the powers becoming true, this was so different have in mind. He shut his open mouth and decided to say anything to brake the silence. “Uh- those are some nice fins you got there….” He cleared his throat a bit before continuing speaking. “So… is that your power….or are you like a….mermaid…” He didn’t know the proper word to call what she was besides what heard in tales. “Of course I am still here,” Levi said as he walked towards the edge of the lake, finally answering her question. He made a note to control his breathing, so he wouldn’t turn into a rock and drown in front of a mermaid. The mutant made his way in the water, toward Jas. Once he was waist deep, the feeling of water overwhelmed him and he started to change into his water form. He felt like he was part as one with the lake, but he also still himself. Levi swam up to Jas and looked her in the eye, it was nice to not have to worry about someone running away when they first see what you truly are. “I guess we have a bit more in common than we thought, huh?” He smirked and tried not to laugh from the relief.
Glancing up to see that he was in the water, wading towards her, his tanned body visible beneath the surface, Jasmine smiled at his words, “I’m glad you are,” she laughed, “Still here, I mean,” she added with a shrug. Watching his legs disappear before him as he took the remaining steps towards her, Jassy gasped as the sensitive edge of her tail picked up on the waves in the water, knowing his legs were still there, but at the same time… not there. It was as if he’d become part of the lake itself, the girl realized, staring at him with newfound awe. I guess we have a bit more in common than we thought, huh? she heard him say, unable to help but raise her eyebrows. “Yeah, a lot more than I would’ve thought,” she giggled, hopping off the side and swishing around him, ducking beneath the surface and tilting her head to the side, simply scrutinizing him. Suddenly, Jassy reached out and grabbed ahold of his hand, tugging him quickly through the water, beating her tail quickly, struck by a sense of returning home, back to her nature, her element, her true body. For a split second, Jas wondered if he could swim as fast as she could, or somehow will the water around him to pressure him forwards, alongside her at her pace. It was incredible to meet someone who went to the same school at her with abilities similar to hers. For the first time, Jas felt no discrimination, no judgment, and no disapproval.
“Nice to meet you, Jas. Mind if I call you Jas?” He asked, finishing the handshake. “Yes, I reckon you are from there as well? I mean…how else would we know each other on a trip? Although it’s a pity I didn’t meet you sooner,” He lightly laughed as he thought of the odds of them talking in France before they talked in the school the both attended, then he realized it was weird and wanted to know why, but he shook it off. Levi tried to hold back a laugh as Jassy mentioned him being surprised. If she was worried about some girl then perhaps Levi going into the water first would solve everything and she would feel better. But if he was already in the water, it would give her time to run away like Tetley did. He knew that tricking Jas into the water first was unlike him, but he was not in the mood to chase down another frightened girl who was scared of what he truly. He liked the idea of dealing with whatever insecurity she could have first, and by dead it meant he would put the insecurities to rest, he would see nothing wrong with the girl. “I think I would like take my chance. Even if I am not the biggest fan of surprises….”Levi shrugged as he walked back to where he dropped his towel, taking of his shirt to expose his toned chest. He walked over to the edge of the lake and sat down, with a smile on his face. “By all means, surprise me,” He jokingly pushed her forward with his words. He wanted to see the surprise and the look on her face when she sees what he becomes when he touches one of his all time favorite elements.
“Jas is fine,” she smiled politely, glancing at him nonchalantly as he walked away towards a tree where she saw a towel was hung upon a branch, stripping off his shirt. Unable to help but stare at his toned body, Jassy quickly turned her head away when she realized he was coming back, a smile on his face while a blush brushed over hers. When Levi jokingly pushed her towards the water, Jasmine pretended to take the fall, jumping off the edge at the last moment and springing into the water with a neat dive. Once her body was submerged past her hips, the lightest tingles shook the insides of her legs as the girl realized her assumptions were right, and that she was turning. Turning back into a mermaid! Swimming around quickly, the girl was surprised at the sudden freedom she was thrust into, before remembering Levi was waiting. Levi. What would he think when he saw her? Was he even there anymore? Breaching the surface, Jassy hopped onto the side, glancing at her tail in the sunlight, glistening and glittering with sunshine and water droplets. Afraid to look at Levi himself, Jassy mumbled aloud, “I sincerely hope you’re still there,” and didn’t run away, she added in her head, resisting the urge to roll her eyes.
Levi didn’t know anything about the girl he was about to go swimming with. Her name, if was from Pandora or not, nothing at all. What he did know is that she liked to swim, and of course, Levi shared the interest. He hopped that he could keep a lid on his powers so her wouldn’t scare the poor girl off, it was tough getting to know someone and explaining why you turned into water at the same time. He walked out the back of the hotel, to the slightly concealed lake, which made him feel a little more comfortable in case of a slip up. He dropped his towel by a near by tree and wait for his swimming mate to arrive. He saw a blonde girl walk up from the distance, he couldn’t help but greet her with a big wave. “Hey! It’s a great day to do swimming,” He commented as he approached the girl, “The name is Levi, by the way. We never got the chance to properly meet,” Levi extended his hand for a firm shake.
A small smile touched Jassy’s lips as he outstretched his hand towards her. He was polite, a true gentleman, which scored rather high in the girl’s books already, even if her mind was sending a completely different message. “Jasmine, but you can call me Jassy if you’d like,” she offered, shaking his hand. Obviously, she was afraid of what he might think once they got into the water, where her legs would no doubt turn into her fins, a form she hadn’t taken since she and Callahn had escaped all those nights ago. “You’re from Pandora, right?” she asked, already knowing the answer. She’d seen him walk around campus with other students, no doubt his friends as she’d stood by to the side, all alone. Perhaps he’d be judgmental when he saw her in her true form, or perhaps he’d be accepting. Either way, Jassy had learnt endlessly about human nature while she’d been at the academy, making and losing friends the instant she mentioned she was a mermaid. Realizing he’d already changed into his swim trunks, Jasmine stripped off her t-shirt, revealing a light blue bikini top, the colour of her fins, and tugged down her shorts to show matching bottoms. Draping her belongings over a large rock at the edge of the water, the girl smiled at him, a grin upon her face, “You first or me?” she asked, “And if I’m going first… well, you’re in for a surprise, I believe,” she warned, her feet beginning to tingle as she came closer to the edge.

“Her life, she realised, had all the charm of a steel trap.”
Nah, I love water. I grew up by the ocean.
That makes two of us… although I was moreso in the water.

So, I’ll meet you by the pond in 10?

Sure, I’ll go.
You sure? I don’t usually get many takers.

Anyone wanna come with?

I promise, I’m not that vicious when I’m a mermaid.
Yeppers! Madrid. Pretty nifty, right?
I’m Nina.
I’ve never known any of these places…

I’m Jasmine. You can call me Jassy if you’d like.
